Tables in the article

[edit]

The article is a very long list already.

  • Some tables had duplications and omissions.
  • They are difficult to maintain.
  • They create trouble for viewing on mobile devices, very popular now.
  • They contain redundant geographical information, unnecessary in linguistic articles.
  • Flagicons are not recommended in places like this. I

Even after I collapse the tables, the list is still very long, but we cannot do anything about that.

I agree that the names of countries in foreign languages may be of interest and give an insight on the proliferation of the suffix.Lembit Staan (talk) 18:28, 13 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Map

[edit]

In the map:

Countries whose name in their native language has the suffix -stan.

Should India be included here? It doesn't specify "official," and India's common name in several North Indian languages is Hindustan AFAIK. AvrahamHerschel (talk) 16:20, 15 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
