Steve Gruber is an American broadcaster, radio host, television producer, filmmaker, and media executive. He is the founder of Wolf Creek Productions, owner of the Michigan Talk Network and co-owner of Michigan News Source. Gruber has produced and hosted outdoor television programming since the 1990s. Wolf Creek Productions has produced nationally syndicated outdoor television series and more than 2,000 television episodes. The company has also produced the Outdoor Channel series Wardens. Gruber later became the host of The Steve Gruber Show and has appeared as a reporter for Real America's Voice.

In 2026, Talkers ranked Gruber No. 93 on its annual Heavy Hundred list of talk-radio personalities. That year, Gruber and the Freedom Project also released the song "One Nation", which debuted at No. 6 on Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart.

Career

Gruber founded Wolf Creek Productions in Michigan in the early 1990s. By 2010, Wolf Creek had produced 15 nationally syndicated outdoor television series.

Gruber has been identified as the creator and longtime host of Outdoor America and hosted Deer City USA on Outdoor Channel. He also hosted Steve Gruber's Wild Life for five years before moving further into talk radio.

The company has produced Wardens, a reality television series following conservation officers and their work in wildlife and natural-resource law enforcement. Wolf Creek's involvement with the series dates to at least 2011. In February 2026, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources reported that Wolf Creek continued to film and produce new episodes of Wardens. Versions of the program have also been distributed through Animal Planet, Discovery Channel and Max under the title Wardens of the North.

In 2023, Gruber directed, produced and hosted the feature-length documentary Flatline: America's Hospital Crisis. The documentary examines hospital closures and their effects on communities, including communities in Missouri, Ohio and Tennessee. Following the documentary's release, Gruber was interviewed by NTD News about hospital closures and ambulance-service challenges in his capacity as director and host of the film.

Radio and television

Gruber transitioned from outdoor broadcasting into talk radio and became host of The Steve Gruber Show. He is also the owner of the Michigan Talk Network.

In 2017, Gruber interviewed Michigan Department of Environmental Quality specialist Robert Delaney about concerns surrounding per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination in Michigan. Bridge Michigan reported that Delaney, who had raised concerns about PFAS within state government for years, discussed the issue publicly on Gruber's radio program. Weeks after the interview, Governor Rick Snyder established the Michigan PFAS Action Response Team, a multi-agency initiative addressing PFAS contamination across the state. The Michigan Legislature subsequently approved more than $23 million for PFAS-related testing and response efforts.

Gruber broadcasting work has included political interviews and national television appearances. Gruber has worked with Real America's Voice, and federal presidential records have identified him by name as a Real America's Voice reporter during a presidential press exchange.

In February 2026, Gruber launched Forgotten America, a long-form interview podcast co-hosted with journalist Ivey Gruber. The program focuses on extended conversations with figures involved in American politics, culture, business, leadership, and public affairs. The first episodes featured Kyle Rittenhouse and Jordan Wells, with discussions addressing media coverage, public scrutiny, faith, cultural leadership, and contemporary social issues.

Gruber has also been a contributor and political commentator for Newsmax, where his columns have appeared under the banner Gruber's Right Mind. His commentary has addressed national politics, presidential elections, economic policy, national security, and other political and cultural issues.

On July 31, 2026, Gruber interviewed President Donald Trump. Trump's comments concerning Greenland during the interview subsequently received national media coverage, including reporting by HuffPost and Mediaite.

In 2026, Gruber expanded into recorded music with "One Nation", released as Steve Gruber and the Freedom Project.

In July 2026 "One Nation" debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Digital Song Sales chart.

Awards and recognition

In 2014, The Steve Gruber Show, broadcast by the Michigan Talk Network, received a Merit award from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters' Broadcast Excellence Awards in the Network Radio category for "Morning Show Broadcast Personality or Team."

Gruber was ranked No. 93 on the 2026 Talkers Heavy Hundred, an annual ranking of talk-radio personalities in the United States.

American Birdhunter, a Wolf Creek-produced program, received a Golden Moose Award and a Teddy Roosevelt Award.
