Samiha bint Zaid Al-Fayez (Arabic: سميحة بنت زيد الفايز; born 8 October 1993) is a Jordanian philanthropist and public figure active in youth development, social welfare, and cultural heritage preservation in Jordan.
Early life and education
[edit]Al-Fayez was born in Amman, Jordan in 1993 to Zaid bin Akef Al-Fayez and was subsequently raised by her aunt, Princess Taghrid Muhammad, and Prince Muhammad bin Talal.[1]
She attended King's Academy in Jordan, graduating in 2011.[2] She subsequently attended King's College London, where she completed a Bachelor of Arts in International Politics in 2016.[3]
Philanthropy and public work
[edit]Al-Fayez has been active in social welfare and community initiatives in Jordan. During her university studies, she led the "Together for Good" (Arabic: معاً لأجل الخير) initiative, organizing youth volunteer campaigns to support underprivileged families and rural communities in Jordan.[4]
Her work heavily focuses on advancing vocational and social opportunities for orphaned and vulnerable youth through the Princess Taghrid Institute for Development and Training (PTI).[5] She has participated in the establishment and public support of social enterprise projects like Dar Ne'meh, a cultural and economic project designed to empower women in traditional crafts and agricultural products across Jordanian governorates.[5]
In addition to social development, Al-Fayez supports regional cultural preservation efforts, particularly documenting and highlighting the historic contribution of Jordanian tribal leaders, including her ancestors Sheikh Mithqal Al-Fayez and Sattam Al-Fayez.[6]
Personal life
[edit]In June 2022, Al-Fayez married Zaid Al-Rifai, son of former Prime Minister Samir Al-Rifai.[1][7]
