Salari (Albanian definite form: Salaria) is a community in the Gjirokastër County, southern Albania.[1] At the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality Tepelenë.[2]
Etymology
[edit]The Etymology of Salari, comes from the Latin word salārium, stemming from sal. (salt) In ancient Rome, it referred to an allowance given to soldiers to purchase salt. [3]
