Rory MacLeod (born 3 February 2006) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a forward or right winger for Scottish Championship club Dunfermline Athletic.
Club career
[edit]In December 2021, aged only 15, MacLeod signed his first professional deal with Dundee United.[1] On 9 February 2022, he became Dundee United's youngest player ever at the age of 16 years and 6 days when he came on as a late substitute in a 2–0 win over Motherwell.[2] On 14 September 2023, MacLeod joined Scottish League Two side Forfar Athletic on loan until January 2024.[3]
On 30 August 2024, he joined Premier League side Southampton on a season-long loan, joining the Under-21 squad.[4]
On 11 July 2025, Macleod joined Scottish Championship side Dunfermline Athletic on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.[5] His start with the club was interrupted by a spell in hospital to treat a throat abscess.[6]
International career
[edit]In October 2021, MacLeod was called up the Scotland under-16 squad for their Victory Shield matches.[7] He scored in victory over Wales U16.[8] In February 2022, he received his first call-up to the Scotland under-17 squad.[9] In August 2023, he was called up to the under–19 squad for the first time.[10]
