Ray Coney (born March 7, 2005) is an American college football linebacker for the Texas A&M Aggies. He previously played for the East Tennessee State Buccaneers and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.
Early life
[edit]Coney attended Fairfield High School in Fairfield, Ohio, where he played both football and basketball.[1] He committed to East Tennessee State to play college football.[2]
College career
[edit]Coney played in 23 games with 12 starts over two seasons at East Tennessee State, recording 144 tackles and six sacks. After the 2024 season, he transferred to the University of Tulsa. In his lone season with them in 2025, he started all 12 games and led the American Conference with 128 tackles and had two sacks.[3][4] After the season, he entered the transfer portal and committed to Texas A&M University.[5][6][7] He entered his first year at Texas A&M in 2026 as a starter.[8]
