Priya Atlee (born Krishna Priya Mohan; 6 December) is an Indian film producer, entrepreneur and former actress who has worked in Tamil films.[4] She made her acting debut with the role of Priya in the series Kana Kaanum Kaalangal (2006). She later starred in a few films playing minor roles. Alongside with her husband she manages the professional pickle-ball team called Bengaluru Jawans.[5]
As a film producer she has produced the Tamil film Andhaghaaram (2020) and the Hindi film Baby John (2024), most of her production ventures are co joint with her husband Atlee.[6]
Career

[edit]Priya started her career in the 2006 coming of age tv series Kana Kaanum Kaalangal which aired Star Vijay. Priya later starred in the Tamil film industry as an film actress in the late 2000s. Her early supporting roles included the Malayalam film Red Chillies (2009) which starred Mohanlal and was directed by Shaji Kailas.[7] In 2010, she starred in the film Singam directed by Hari which starred Suriya and Anushka Shetty. The film ended up being a commercial blockbuster and success.[8] The same year she also acted in the film Naan Mahaan Alla alongside actor Karthi, playing the role of his younger sister. In 2013, she appeared in Singam II. Later in 2015, she acted in the comedy crime thriller film Soan Papdi directed by Sivani which is the last film she has appeared after her marriage and officially quitting acting.[9]
As producer

Priya Atlee co-founded A for Apple Productions with her husband, director Atlee in 2017. The production house has also been referred to as A for Apple Studios. She has taken an active role as a producer under the banner, including contributions to pre-production and script discussions on her husband's directorial ventures. She later produced the supernatural horror Tamil film Andhaghaaram (2020), released on Netflix after a lengthy post-production delay, where A for Apple Productions collaborated with Passion Studios and O2 Pictures.[10]
In 2023, alongside her husband Atlee she attended the 2023 Cannes Film Festival under the category as Film Producers. Making her one of the few Indian nationality individuals to attend the international film festival.[11]
In 2024, she made her Bollywood debut as a producer with Baby John which starred Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh in lead roles, co-produced under A for Apple Productions. Priya described the project as a "dream come true moment for us," highlighting it as the duo's first venture in Hindi cinema and expressing appreciation for the collaborative team, including director Kalees and co-producer Murad Khetani.[12]
Established own fashion brand
[edit]Priya Atlee launched her designer clothing brand Red Knot in 2024, offering collections for both men and women.[13]
Personal life
[edit]Priya and film director Atlee married on 9 November 2014.[14] They have a son born in 2023,[15] and a daughter born in 2026.[16]
