Perathereutes is an extinct genus of sparassodont that lived in Argentina during the Burdigalian stage of the Mioceneepoch, during the Santacrucian South American land mammal age.[1]
Palaeobiology
[edit]The mandibular morphology of Perathereutes was found to occupy a morphospace overlapping with present-day insectivores and generalist omnivores, suggesting a similar diet.[2]
