Patrick Blackwell (born 30 March 2008) is an American figure skater.[1] He is the 2024 JGP Czech Skate silver medalist and the 2025 JGP in Thailand silver medalist.
Personal life
[edit]Blackwell was born on 30 March, 2008 in Providence, Rhode Island to parents Chris and Annette. Patrick began skating at the age of two when he went to the skating rink with his mother; who is a figure skating coach. He has an older sister.
Blackwell can speak German fluently.[2]
Career
[edit]2024–25 season: First Junior Grand Prix medal
[edit]Blackwell made his U.S. Championships Junior debut in January 2025 and got a bronze medal.[3][4] He also competed in his first Junior Grand Prix events in the Czech Republic and China, where he came second in the former and sixth in the latter.[5][6][7]
2025–26 season: Junior Grand Prix silver
[edit]He started off the season with a silver medal in JGP Thailand.[8] Two months later, he achieved a gold medal in the Tallinn Trophy, his first ISU Challenger Series and overseas title.[9]
In January 2026, he won the U.S. Championships in the Junior class and dedicated it to his friend Spencer Lane, a figure skater who passed away in the American Airlines Flight 5342, which was fatal for all passengers onboard and happened three days after the 2025 U.S. Figure Skating Championships.[10][11]
2026–27 season
[edit]Blackwell began his season on the Junior Grand Prix series, competing at the stages in China and Georgia; placing fifth at both assignments.[12][13]
