Pastor Infante Concha (1848 – 31 October 1920) was a Chilean farmer, businessman and politician who served as a member of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile and as a senator for Linares Province.[1]

A member of the Conservative Party, he represented Rancagua, Cachapoal and Maipo in the Chamber of Deputies for three consecutive terms between 1894 and 1903, before serving in the Senate from 1906 to 1912.[1]

Early life

[edit]

Infante was born in 1848 to Carlos Infante Valero and Carmen Concha de la Cerda. He studied at the Colegio de los Sagrados Corazones between 1860 and 1863.[1]

He married his cousin Clarisa Infante de la Cerda. The couple had no children.[1]

Infante devoted himself to agriculture and industrial activities and owned two estates in the Buin-Maipo area, one of which was known as Fundo La Fábrica. He also worked as a commercial broker and served as manager of the Banco de Santiago.[1]

Political career

[edit]

A member of the Conservative Party, Infante was elected to the Chamber of Deputies for Rancagua, Cachapoal and Maipo for the 1894–1897 term.[1]

He was reelected for the 1897–1900 term, during which he served on the permanent finance committee. Infante was elected for a third consecutive term in 1900 and represented the same constituency until 1903, serving on the permanent committee for charity and worship.[1]

In 1906, Infante was elected to the Senate for Linares Province, serving until 1912. During his senatorial term, he was a member of the permanent finance committee and also served on the Conservative Commission during the 1910–1911 congressional recess.[1]

Infante died on 31 October 1920.[1]
