According to the review aggregator Metacritic, Optical Delusion received "generally favorable reviews" based on a weighted average score of 71 out of 100 from 10 critic scores.[5]
The Guardian gave the album a 3/5, calling it a "sterling comeback," praising the guest artists, and commending the instrumental tracks.[9]
