Ophidiaster(from Ancient Greek ὄφις (óphis), meaning "snake", and ἀστήρ (astḗr), meaning "star") is a genus of sea stars belonging to the family Ophidiasteridae.[1]

The genus has almost cosmopolitan distribution.[1]
