Neha Bora is an Indian student activist. She is currently serving as the National President of the All India Students' Association.[1] [2]
Early life and education
[edit source]She hails from Khatima, Uttarakhand. Her father served in the Indian Army so she moved from city to city in her childhood. She is also a theatre artist.[1][3] She completed her BA from Delhi University, MA from Ambedkar University and is pursuing a PhD under Assistant Professor Brahma Prakash at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in School of Arts and Aesthetics.[1][4]
Student Activism
[edit source]Neha Bora gained national prominence through her involvement in the 2026 Delhi Jantar Mantar protests[5], which demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, over allegations related to paper leaks and NEET exam irregularities.[5] Along with Sonam Wangchuk, she undertook a 23-day hunger strike in the national capital.[6][7] She started her hunger strike protest weighing 66 kilograms, and had lost around 7.5 kilograms by the end of it, and reached worrying levels of blood pressure.[3] She is regarded as instrumental in building a social movement that originated from a meme and political satire campaign circulated through the Cockroach Janta Party.[8] She also demanded the resignation of Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar, alleging police brutality against the student and youth during the 2026 'Sansad Chalo' march organized by Cockroach Janta Party.[9]
She has been seen speaking out on issues such as the privatization of education, mob lynching, paper leak, justice for Bilkis Bano and the Gaza humanitarian crisis.[10][6][11][12][13][14]
