Nannoscincus slevini, also known commonly as Slevin's elf skink and Slevin's dwarf skink, is an endangered species of lizard in the family Scincidae. The species is endemic to New Caledonia.[2]
Etymology
[edit]The specific name, slevini, is in honor of American herpetologist Joseph Richard Slevin.[3]
Habitat
[edit]The preferred natural habitat of N. slevini is forest, at altitudes of 400–900 m (1,300–3,000 ft).[1]
Description
[edit]N. slevini may attain a snout-to-vent length (SVL) of 4.3 cm (1.7 in). It has only four toes on each front foot.[4]
