Mike Beltran (born June 26, 1984) is a litigation attorney in the state of Florida. He is a Republican former member of the Florida House of Representatives, having represented the state's 70th district, which includes part of Hillsborough County.
History
[edit]Mike Beltran is an American attorney and Republican politician from Florida. He served as a member of the Florida House of Representatives for District 70 from November 2018 to November 2024.[1] Beltran was born in New York City, earned a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2005, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2008. He practiced law in the Tampa Bay area before entering politics. He and his wife Hope have two sons.[2]
Beltran served three terms in the Florida House of Representatives. In May 2026, he announced his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in Florida's 14th Congressional District.[3]
Notable legislation
[edit]During his service in the Florida House of Representatives, Beltran sponsored the following bills:
- HB 225 (2019) – Permitted graduating high school students to wear the uniform of the United States Armed Forces at commencement ceremonies.[4]
- HB 7027 (2019) – Established restrictions on minors vaping in indoor public spaces and within 1,000 feet of schools.[5]
- HB 775 (2024) – Allowed parents to anonymously and safely surrender infants to hospital staff (safe haven law).[6]
