MediaOne Academy is a media institute in Kozhikode, Kerala, India. It was established by Madhyamam Broadcasting Limited in 2010. MediaOne Academy is a sister organisation of Media One TV. MediaOne Academy operates as an autonomous professional training institute rather than a UGC-recognized university. Their diplomas and certificates are institutional certifications designed for media industry employment rather than government academic parity.
History
[edit]MediaOne Academy is a media institute that was established by Madhyamam Broadcasting Limited in 2010. MediaOne Academy is a sister organisation of Media One TV.
The MediaOne Academy, in association with Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science and Technology, organised a five-day national science communication workshop at its campus on September 14–18, 2015.[1] Monthly, it collaborates with Pedestrian Pictures and Crown Cinema to screen of documentary films, short films, and music albums at the Crown Theatre in Calicut.[2]

Student and alumni production
[edit]The Burning Ghats, a film produced by MediaOne Academy, was selected for the National Science Film Festival and Competition in 2014, which was organised by Vigyan Prasar, the Department of Science and Technology and the National Council of Science Museums.[3] The student diploma film Human Island produced by MediaOne Academy student, Fasilul Farisa, received Bronze Beaver Award at 2015 National Science Festival organised by the Department of Science and Technology and the National Council of Science Museums.[4]
Victim of Laurel, produced by MBL students Ashhab Ayoob and Mansoor Ali, received best non-fiction film award at Campus Film Festival 2015, organised by FILCA (Film Loves Cultural Association) and the Centre for Development of Imaging Technology).[5] Ijas Muhammed, a PG Diploma in television programme production, course won the Saratchandran Memorial Award for the best documentary for Unity Yet Diversity at the Youth Spring Film Festival 2014, Calicut. Ahammed Naseeb, another MediaOne Academy student, won the best cinematographer award for the same film.[6]
Alumni Sajid Ajmal, who is presently working as a Broadcast Journalist @ MediaOne TV, received the Best Investigative Journalist Award from the Government of Kerala.[7]
