The Little Giant Fire is a current wildfire sparked by lightning in the Chiwawa River valley[1] around 30 miles (48 km) northwest of Leavenworth, Washington, on July 15, 2026.[2] It nearly reached 23,000 acres (9,300 ha) on July 27.[3] A pyrocumulus cloud from the fire was visible as far away as Seattle in late July.[4] The Washington State Department of Natural Resources and the Washington National Guard are supporting firefighting operations, with additional support from the Washington State Guard. More than 100 Washington National Guard members and a Washington State Guard team were mobilized for the response on July 31.[5][6]
