From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Limited Memory AI is a type of artificial intelligence that uses past data and experiences for a short period of time to make decisions or predictions.[1][2][3] Unlike reactive AI systems, which respond only to current inputs, limited memory AI can temporarily store information and learn from recent observations.[4][5][6]

Most modern artificial intelligence systems are considered limited memory AI.[citation needed]

Examples

[edit]

Examples include self-driving cars, recommendation systems, fraud detection tools, and conversational chatbots.[7][8] These systems analyze historical data, recognize patterns, and improve responses based on recent interactions.[9]

Usage

[edit]

Limited memory AI usually works through machine learning models such as neural networks, recurrent neural networks (RNNs), and long short-term memory (LSTM) systems. The stored information is generally temporary and is replaced or updated as new data becomes available.[10]

Applications

[edit]
  • Autonomous vehicles
  • Recommendation engines
  • Virtual assistants and chatbots
  • Fraud detection systems
  • Facial recognition systems
