Kamalkanta Verma was an Indian judge and the former Chief Justice of the Indian High Courts.

Career

Verma was appointed a judge of the Allahabad High Court in 1937. He served on the court for nearly a decade before succeeding Justice Iqbal Ahmad as Chief Justice in September 1946.[1] Verma was transferred to the High Court of the former princely state of Udaipur. He became its Chief Justice in 1949. Following the integration of the princely states of Rajputana, the institution became part of the judicial structure of the newly formed state of Rajasthan. He was appointed as the first Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court and served there from 29 August 1949 to 24 January 1950.[2]
