K2 Airways is a Pakistani cargo airline based in Karachi, Pakistan. The airline was established in 2018 and operates scheduled and charter cargo services on domestic and international routes. It received its Air operator's certificate from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority in December 2024. As of 2026, the airline operated a fleet of one Boeing 737-400, which on 7 July 2026, crashed into the Arabian Sea, with 5 crew members on board.[2]
History
[edit]The airline was first founded in 2018, later opening its social media campaign in 2019. [3][4]
In early 2023, almost 5 years after the airline was first founded, it stated that it intended to begin passenger flight operations with E190 aircraft, which would be the first airline in Pakistan to operate Embraer aircraft.[5] The plan was however mulled in late 2023 as the aircraft lessor was not able to provide the airline with a second aircraft.[1]
In July 2024, K2 Airways received its first aircraft, a cargo converted B737-4M0(BDSF), which was registered in Pakistan as AP-BOI.[1]
K2 Airways received its Air operator's certificate on December 20, 2024, and subsequently began flight operations a week later on December 27, launching its inaugural flight from Karachi to Lahore.[6]

Accidents and incidents
[edit]- On 7 July 2026, at around 9:18 PM PST, K2 Airways’ only aircraft, a 27 year old Boeing 737-4M0(BDSF) (registered as AP-BOI) aircraft, was operating K2 Airways Flight 1732 from Sharjah to Karachi. It crashed into the Arabian Sea following a navigation systems issue.[10][11]
