Star City Football Club,[1] formerly known as Immigration Football Club, is a professional football club owned by the IFC Corporation Sdn Bhd. The club is based in Kangar, but founded in Alor Setar, Malaysia. They are playing in the Malaysia Super League, after promotion from the Malaysia A1 Semi-Pro League.[2][3]
History
[edit]The club was founded by the Immigration Department of Malaysia in 2015 in Semenyih, and participated in several competitions in the Klang Valley. The club has also been involved in the KLFA Super League.[4] They ended as the 2019 Kuala Lumpur League runners-up and got promoted to the Malaysia M3 League.[5] On 23 February 2020, Immigration competed in the 2020 Malaysia FA Cup for the first time and won the 1st round match by 2–0 against Staroba. The remaining season was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The club competed in the 2023 Malaysia FA Cup and on 25 March they recorded a 1–0 win against BRM, before losing to Kuala Lumpur City by 2–0. In February 2025, Immigration ended as the 2024–25 Malaysia A1 Semi-Pro League runners-up, gaining promotion to the Malaysia Super League for the first time.[6] During the 2025 Malaysia FA Cup round of 16 first leg fixture against Terengganu, Immigration won after João Pedro scored a stoppage time winner.

[edit]The Immigration football club has officially rebranded as Star City Football Club (SCFC), effective July 1, 2026. This major rebranding came as the club ramps up preparations for the 2026–27 Malaysia Super League season.[7]
