HyperVerge is an Indian Information Technology company that provides Identity verification, business verification, video KYC, face authentication, forgery detection, AML screening, fraud detection and deepfake detection services.[1][2] It is headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka.[3]
History
[edit source]HyperVerge was founded in 2013 by five IIT Madras alumni: Kedar Kulkarni, Vignesh Krishnakumar, Kishore Natarajan, Saivenkatesh Ashokkumar, and Praveen Kumar.[citation needed]
HyperVerge has raised a seed funding of $ 1 million from US-based venture capital firms, including NEA, Milliways Ventures and Naya Ventures (now Dallas Venture Capital) in 2015.[4]
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) partnered with HyperVerge to implement video KYC services for State Bank of India (SBI).[5]
In 2021, the State Bank of India launched a programme in collaboration with HyperVerge to enable customers open accounts online.[6][7]
In August 2021, HyperVerge partnered with UP42 (Airbus) for AI satellite-imagery change detection[8] and second Airbus collaboration with Airbus BizLab India.[9]
In June 2023, LinkedIn selected HyperVerge as its third-party verifier for Aadhaar-based profile ID verification in India (via DigiLocker).[10]
In 2022, HyperVerge was certified with Level 2 compliance for its liveness technology by National Institute of Standards and Technology accredited biometric testing laboratory.[11]
In January 2026, Suryoday Small Finance Bank partnered with HyperVerge for video-based customer verification.[12]
In March 2026, The Government of India signed a contract with HyperVerge for face recognition in public exams.[13]
In May 2026, HyperVerge was granted a patent in the US (US 12,633,162 B2) for its facial image-to-ID matching with manipulation/liveness/tampering checks technology.[14]
Research & technology
[edit source]In 2012, the team began testing practical applications of AI through consulting assignments with Indian Railways, ITC, MRF and other organisations. In 2013, the company decided to take up entrepreneurship and started HyperVerge Technologies.[15]
In June 2021, HyperVerge's Liveness product was tested by iBeta Quality Assurance, a NVLAP-accredited laboratory, and confirmed to conform to ISO/IEC 30107-3 at Level 1 for presentation attack detection.[16]
In February 2024, the company announced that its passive liveness technology had passed Level 2 presentation attack detection testing against ISO/IEC 30107-3.[17]
HyperVerge Academy
[edit source]In 2020, HyperVerge founded HyperVerge Academy. The academy provides structured learning opportunities for students, recent graduates, and professionals through internships, mentorship programs, technical workshops, and hands-on projects that reflect real-world industry applications.[18]
