Hydnochaete is a genus of hydnoid fungi in the family Hymenochaetaceae, order Hymenochaetales.[1] All species are wood-rotting and produce brown to gray effused fruiting bodies. The genus is very close to Hymenochaete and can be considered its hydnoid counterpart.
