Clarify "Bubbling" section

[edit]

I'd fix it myself, but no matter how many times I read it, I still can't understand what it is trying to convey. --Backlitt (talk) 20:42, 9 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Agree. It need to be clarified. The article is difficult to understand to me. Justin545 (talk) 15:33, 7 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Backlitt and Justin545, could you please check the new wording of Help:Metatemplating#Bubbling? —andrybak (talk) 15:44, 7 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the concrete examples. I am still reading Help:Substitution that is linked to by your new wording for understanding the following text:

... subst: would not evaluate.

Substitution will reevaluate when the resulting template is included

By the way, the content (before saving the template page)
<!-- start of the template -->
<includeonly>{{subst:X2}}</includeonly>
<!-- end of the template -->
doesn't seem to be the same as
<!-- start of the template -->
{{subst:X2}}
<!-- end of the template -->

I find that to be more clear. Thank you @Andrybak Backlitt (talk) 18:10, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
