The Global Health Exhibition (GHE) is an annual healthcare trade exhibition and conference held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. First staged in 2018, it is organized by Tahaluf, and takes place under the patronage of the Saudi Ministry of Health as part of the Health Sector Transformation Program.[1][2][3]

History

[edit]

The Global Health Exhibition was established in 2018 and held its first two editions in Riyadh.[4] It was subsequently held in a virtual format in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic before resuming as an in-person event.[4]

The exhibition returned to an in-person format from 9 to 11 October 2022 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, under the patronage of the Minister of Health, Fahad Al-Jalajel.[5][6][7]

2023 edition

[edit]

The 2023 edition was held over three days from 29 to 31 October in Riyadh.[8] The exhibition witnessed the signing of 138 agreements with a combined value exceeding SAR13.3 billion (approximately $3.5 billion).[9][10] The program included accredited continuing medical education sessions and dedicated zones focused on investment, laboratory medicine, and healthcare startups.[8][11][12]

During the 2023 edition, Saudi Minister of Health Fahad Al-Jalajel launched the National Platform for Health and Insurance Exchange Services (NPHIES) at the exhibition. The platform was developed in collaboration with the Council of Health Insurance, the Saudi Health Council, and the National Health Information Center.[13]

2024 edition (seventh)

[edit]

The seventh edition took place from 21 to 23 October 2024 in Riyadh, under the theme "Invest in Health," under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and with the support of the Health Sector Transformation Program.[1]

The 2024 edition generated projects and investment commitments exceeding SAR50 billion ($13.3 billion).[14] These included a pharmaceutical manufacturing agreement valued at approximately SAR4 billion involving the National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO), Novo Nordisk, and Sanofi; a SAR5 billion expansion by Fakeeh Care Group; a SAR3 billion investment by Almoosa Health Group to establish new hospitals and primary care centers; and hospital acquisitions and construction projects by Dallah Health valued at approximately SAR4 billion.[1][14]

2025 edition (eighth)

[edit]

The eighth edition was held from 27 to 30 October 2025 at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in the Malham district under the same theme, "Invest in Health".[15][16]

The edition introduced an Investor Program representing approximately $65 billion in assets and launched VIBE, a wellness-focused companion event linked to the Ministry of Health's LiveWell initiative.[2][17]

The 2025 exhibition resulted in deals collectively valued at $35.5 billion,[18] including an expanded collaboration between Health Holding Company and Mass General Brigham to support the implementation of the Saudi Model of Care,[19] as well as a $214 million strategic partnership between the Saudi Ministry of Investment, the Ministry of Health, and ewpartners to support healthcare investment and expand private-sector participation in Saudi Arabia's health sector.[20]

The edition also hosted the launch of a "Together for Health" campaign under the 10KSA cancer-awareness initiative of Princess Reema bint Bandar, who had originally established the initiative in 2015.[16]

2026 edition (ninth)

[edit]

The ninth edition is scheduled to take place from 26 to 29 October 2026 at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center. It is set to introduce three new specialist zones covering orthopaedics and rehabilitation, and dental care, along with new programs such as the invitation-only "Leaders Circle " executive network, an expanded investor platform called Capital Xchange, and a live podcast studio branded "Pulse Studio."[21][22]
