Beijing Geekplus Technology Co., Ltd., commonly known as Geekplus and branded as Geek+, is a Chinese robotics company specialising in warehouse automation. It develops autonomous mobile robot (AMR) systems used for order fulfilment, sorting, inventory movement and other warehouse operations.[1][2]
Founded in Beijing in 2015, Geekplus expanded internationally during the late 2010s and early 2020s. Its customers have included retailers, manufacturers and logistics companies such as Walmart, Nike, Decathlon and Dell.[2] The company has been listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since July 2025.[3]
History
[edit]Geekplus was founded in Beijing in February 2015 by Zheng Yong, who became its chief executive officer. Zheng had previously worked in supply-chain and manufacturing operations at ABB and Saint-Gobain.[1]
The company initially developed mobile robots that carry shelves or goods to warehouse workers. By 2018, it had delivered more than 5,000 robots for about 100 warehouse projects in China and overseas.[4]
Geekplus continued to expand internationally in the early 2020s. In 2020, Geekplus partnered with warehouse-system integrator Conveyco to expand its distribution in North America.[2]
The company raised more than US$400 million between 2018 and 2022, including a US$200 million Series C round in 2020 and a further US$100 million financing round in 2022. The latter valued Geekplus at approximately US$2 billion.[5][6]
Geekplus completed an initial public offering on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in July 2025, raising about HK$2.7 billion. Trading began on 9 July under stock code 2590.[3][7]
In February 2026, the company formally established its headquarters in Xiong'an New Area, Hebei.[8]
Products and technology
[edit]Geekplus develops autonomous mobile robot systems for warehouses and manufacturing facilities. Its systems automate tasks such as retrieving goods, moving inventory, sorting orders and transporting pallets. By 2019, the company offered robots for picking, moving, sorting and forklift applications.[1]
Its fulfilment systems use a goods-to-person model similar to that developed by Kiva Systems, with mobile robots bringing shelves, containers or pallets to picking stations rather than requiring workers to retrieve goods manually.[5] The systems include shelf-to-person, tote-to-person and pallet-to-person fulfilment, as well as sorting and material transport.[9]
Operations and market position
[edit]Geekplus sells its systems in China and overseas through subsidiaries, offices, distributors and systems-integration partners. Its customers have included retailers, manufacturers and logistics companies such as Walmart, Nike, Decathlon, Dell, Alibaba and SF Express.[2][1]
The company is particularly strong in warehouse-fulfilment AMRs. Geekplus generated about RMB2.2 billion in warehouse-fulfilment AMR revenue in 2024, equivalent to 9.0% of the global market. That placed Geekplus first in the segment for the sixth consecutive year.[10]
