Fireworks AI is an American artificial intelligence company headquartered in San Mateo, California. It provides AI inference and model-serving tools that allow developers to deploy, customize, and operate generative artificial intelligence models.[1][2]
History
[edit]Fireworks AI was founded in 2022 by a group of former Meta engineers. Its co-founder and CEO, Lin Qiao, previously led the PyTorch team at Meta.[3]
In 2024, Cursor worked with Fireworks AI to deploy Cursor's Fast Apply model and add support for its custom speculative-editing system.[4]
In July 2024, the company raised $52 million in a Series B funding round led by Sequoia Capital, bringing its total funding at the time to $77 million.[5]
In October 2025, Fireworks AI raised $250 million in Series C funding at a valuation of $4 billion. The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Index Ventures, and Evantic, with participation from Sequoia Capital.[6]
In July 2026, the company raised $1.51 billion in a Series D funding round at a valuation of $17.5 billion. The round was led by Atreides Management, Index Ventures, and TCV.[7]
