The Fiat Multiplina is a four-seat battery-electric microcar concept unveiled by Fiat in June 2026. Inspired by the original Fiat 600 Multipla of 1956, the concept previews a future urban electric vehicle positioned between the Fiat Topolino quadricycle and the Fiat 500e in the manufacturer's range. It is expected to enter production around 2028.

History

The Multiplina Concept was presented during a micromobility event held in Vatican City in June 2026. Fiat described the vehicle as "the missing link between a Topolino and a car", combining the compact dimensions of a quadricycle with seating for four occupants.

The concept forms part of Fiat's strategy to expand its lineup of compact urban electric vehicles while drawing inspiration from historical models. Its name is derived from the original 600 Multipla, one of the world's earliest mass-produced multi-purpose vehicles.

Design

The Multiplina Concept adopts retro-inspired styling cues reminiscent of the 1956 Fiat 600 Multipla, including:

• a short front overhang;
• an upright, one-box profile;
• circular LED headlamps;
• a contrasting white roof;
• a large glazed cabin.

Unlike the original six-seat Multipla, the Multiplina is configured with four seats arranged in two rows. Fiat designed the vehicle primarily for urban mobility, with dimensions comparable to those of the classic Fiat 500 rather than a conventional city car.

Powertrain

Fiat has confirmed that the Multiplina Concept is an electric vehicle. It is expected to comply with the European L7e heavy quadricycle category, giving it a maximum mass of approximately 450 kg (excluding batteries) and a top speed of around 90 km/h (56 mph). Full technical specifications, including battery capacity and driving range, had not been released as of July 2026.

Production

According to Fiat, the Multiplina is intended to become a production model during 2028. If launched, it would expand the brand's range of compact electric urban vehicles and sit above the Topolino while remaining smaller than the Fiat 500e.
