Manuel Jorge Gorostiaga (born 17 April 1984), better known as Emmanuel Danann, is an Argentine influencer, streamer, YouTuber, musician and political activist associated with conservatism[2][3] and libertarianism.[1][4]
Danann gained public attention through his YouTube channel,[5][6] where he publishes commentary critical of the political left, feminism, LGBT organizations, Kirchnerism, globalism and environmentalism.[4] In 2021, he won a Martín Fierro Digital Award for Best Opinion Influencer.[4]
In addition to his online activity, Danann has worked as a musician and online media host. Since 2008, he has been the vocalist of the rock band Danann, which has released several studio albums.[7]
Biography
[edit]Danann is a descendant of 19th-century Argentine jurist and politician José Benjamín Gorostiaga.[8]
Danann began his musical career in the 2000s. In late 2007, he started recording a musical project that would later adopt his stage name, and the following year he formed a rock band.[9]
His releases include the albums El Juego, Revolución and 1984.[9] He has also worked as a media host, including presenting the program Danann o Muerte, broadcast by Radio Zónica.[10]

[edit]From around 2015, Danann expanded his presence on social media, particularly through videos discussing political and cultural issues. His commentary has frequently focused on criticism of progressivism, feminism and the LGBT movement.[4]
His growth on social media coincided with the increasing prominence of the Argentine liberal and libertarian movements. In 2021, Noticias Argentinas described him as one of the influencers involved in promoting liberal ideas in Argentina.[5]
Danann also participated in activities associated with Javier Milei before Milei became president. During the launch of Milei's 2021 campaign for the Argentine Chamber of Deputies, Danann was among the online personalities associated with the emerging libertarian movement. He later became increasingly critical of Milei and his government.[11]
In 2024, Danann was subject to two rulings by courts in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires concerning social-media posts, including a case involving journalist Marina Abiuso. In the latter case, he was ordered to perform community service and attend a workshop on gender and domestic violence.[12] The case was subsequently mentioned by Amnesty International in its annual report on Argentina.[13]
Support for and split with Milei
[edit]Danann publicly supported Javier Milei during Milei's rise in Argentine politics and the early development of La Libertad Avanza (LLA). As late as December 2024, he continued to praise aspects of Milei's presidency, including the reduction of the fiscal deficit and inflation and the government's security policies.[14]
He subsequently became more critical of Milei's administration and LLA's leadership. In October 2025, Danann said that the government had "abandoned the ideas of liberty" and criticized the political organization of the governing party.[15] That month, he also stated that "Mileism lost the opportunity to make history", while maintaining his support for principles such as private property and individual responsibility.[11]
In January 2026, Danann publicly confirmed his political break with Milei. He criticized what he regarded as intolerance of internal disagreement within LLA and stated that he no longer believed he shared the same ideological outlook as Milei. He also argued that the government had moved away from principles originally associated with the Argentine libertarian movement.[16]
His criticism continued during 2026. In June, Danann stated that he and several former supporters or associates—including Ramiro Marra, Eduardo Miguel Prestofelippo ("El Presto"), Mariano Zicarelli and Carlos Maslatón—had been pushed out of the political space. He also criticized Milei's support for Manuel Adorni.[17]
In a later interview with NewsDigitales, Danann attributed the split to political differences over the evolution of LLA and argued that Milei had changed from the political figure he had originally supported.[18]
