Conflict of interest disclosure
[edit]I am Roger L. Cohen's son and requested the creation of this draft. I will use the Articles for Creation process rather than moving the page directly to article space, and I welcome independent review. Bncohen (talk) 04:11, 31 August 2026 (UTC)
Writing assistance and disability
[edit]@Helpful Raccoon: I want to explain why I use writing assistance. I have dyslexia, dysgraphia and a learning disability. I need help with spelling and grammar, and I use AI for that support.
The original draft involved AI. I wrote the text I supplied for the September 20 revision myself, and an AI assistant then helped restore the citations and Wikipedia formatting. I understand that you still have concerns about that revision and its sources.
I want to write about my father in my own words while still getting basic spelling and grammar help. Could you explain how I can use the proofreading assistance allowed by Wikipedia:Writing articles with large language models while addressing your concerns?
I asked an AI assistant to help phrase and prepare this note about my own situation. Bncohen (talk) 22:55, 28 September 2026 (UTC)
- The LLM did a lot more than simple proofreading; any text it adds that you didn't write yourself falls outside of the proofreading exception to WP:LLM. LLMs can rewrite text on their own even if not asked to do so. My suggestion is to remove all text, find roughly three good sources with analysis of Cohen that meet all the criteria in WP:42, and write a short draft that summarizes what the sources say about Cohen. - "The statement, 'The LLM did a lot more than simple proofreading; any text it adds that you didn't write yourself falls outside of the proofreading exception to WP:LLM," is incorrect and not factual. I have written the content in my own words and believe my version is both factual and well-written. This is a matter of opinion, and I respectfully disagree with your assessment. I would like to formally appeal your decision or request that another reviewer, without bias, reconsider this case. I feel that the current handling may reflect bias and discrimination against me for reasons I do not understand. Bncohen (talk) 13:13, 1 October 2026 (UTC)
- Statements like "His obituary listed him as a member of the founding board of directors of Electronic Realty Associates (ERA), established in 1971 as a national real-estate franchise network", with overemphasis on the sources themselves rather than summarizing the the sources say about the subject, are characteristic of LLM usage. You can get advice (but not a "formal appeal") at WP:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk. Helpful Raccoon (talk) 21:59, 1 October 2026 (UTC)
