Response to draft review / notability sources

[edit]

Thank you for reviewing the draft.

I understand the concern regarding notability and sourcing. I have reviewed the draft again and I believe the subject may meet Wikipedia’s notability requirements for biographies, because there is significant coverage in multiple published, independent and secondary sources, particularly in relation to his executive roles at Aspro Ocio and Parques Reunidos.

The following independent sources provide coverage beyond passing mentions:

1. El País – “Al agua parques”

https://elpais.com/diario/2007/09/02/negocio/1188738211_850215.html

This article gives significant coverage to Richard Golding’s role at Parques Reunidos. It states that Advent entrusted the management of the company to him and discusses the company’s acquisition-led growth after he took charge.

2. Cinco Días – “El ex consejero delegado de Aspro Ocio gestionará Parques Reunidos”

https://cincodias.elpais.com/cincodias/2004/01/15/empresas/1074177597_850215.html

This article covers his appointment as vice-chairman and chief executive officer of Parques Reunidos after Advent International took control of the company. It also identifies him as the former chief executive of Aspro Ocio.

3. Cinco Días – “Candover adquiere Parques Reunidos a Advent International”

https://cincodias.elpais.com/cincodias/2007/01/22/empresas/1169636337_850215.html

This article discusses the sale of Parques Reunidos by Advent International to Candover and identifies Richard Golding as chief executive officer. It also describes the management team led by Golding as having directed the group’s growth and international expansion since 2003.

4. Europa Press – “Richard Golding, nuevo presidente no ejecutivo de Parques Reunidos tras la renuncia de James Long”

https://www.europapress.es/turismo/otro-turismo/noticia-richard-golding-nuevo-presidente-no-ejecutivo-parques-reunidos-renuncia-james-long-20180717112945.html

This article covers his return to Parques Reunidos as non-executive chairman in 2018 and states that he had previously served as executive chairman of the company between 2003 and 2014.

5. Europa Press – “Fernando Eiroa dimite como CEO de Parques Reunidos”

https://www.europapress.es/turismo/nacional/noticia-fernando-eiroa-dimite-ceo-parques-reunidos-20181004183507.html

This article confirms his role as non-executive chairman and states that he would supervise the governance of Parques Reunidos until the appointment of a new chief executive officer.

6. El País – “Un alto ejecutivo en el viñedo”

https://elpais.com/economia/2018/07/04/actualidad/1530701797_975799.html

This article provides broader biographical and business coverage, describing Richard Golding as vice-chairman of DIA and consultant to Parques Reunidos, and covering his later activity as founder of Bodega Tesalia.

7. Diario de Sevilla – “Richard Golding: ‘La gente quiere cosas nuevas, ahí entran los vinos de Tierra de Cádiz’”

https://www.diariodesevilla.es/entrevistas/quiere-nuevas-Tierra-Cadiz-vinos_0_1478852539.html

This source provides additional biographical and business context, including his later activity in Bodega Tesalia and other board/advisory roles. I understand that this is less central for notability than the El País, Cinco Días and Europa Press sources, but it helps support factual details.

8. Diario de Jerez – “La bodega del inglés”

https://www.diariodejerez.es/jerez/Tesalia-bodega-ingles_0_1502849866.html

This provides additional independent coverage of his business activity in the wine sector and gives further context on Bodega Tesalia.

I understand that not every source carries the same weight. For that reason, I intend to rely primarily on El País, Cinco Días and Europa Press for notability, and to use the other sources only for supporting factual details.

I have also reduced or removed material that was weaker, promotional, or based mainly on corporate profiles, and I am avoiding any current advisory activity that does not yet have independent significant coverage.

Would these sources be sufficient to support a revised, neutral draft focused mainly on Aspro Ocio, Parques Reunidos, Grupo DIA and Bodega Tesalia?

Thank you again for your guidance.
