Draft talk:Native Officer Ali

Article/ draft for Native Officer Ali

I’m drafting about Native Officer Ali, a Hausa officer who served in the Gold Coast (Houssa) Constabulary, a British colonial military force in what is now Ghana, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Native Officer Ali is mentioned in archival records, including records held by the UK National Archives, as well as historical accounts concerning the Hausa/ Muslim community. Following his service, he appears to have become a respected head of the Hausa community and was involved in the appointment of community leaders among Hausa carriers and porters in Accra.
