Improving draft
[edit]Invited on my talk, I take a look at this impressive detailed draft.
I wonder if the Repertoire section could be be skipped in that form, and some of it brought to the lead such as two or three signature roles. I'd rather mention the roles in the context of the history: Rodolfo in Puccini's La bohème.
The lead should not have awards which can be in the infobox. I'll look again tomorrow. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:37, 24 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hi Gerda, thank you for looking at my new draft, I have removed the Performances section, since this is indeed very repetitive (he does specialize in these roles!) and they are mentioned throughout. I've also removed the awards from the lead, since they are in the Infobox. Also fixed the category issues that user Bearcat kindly pointed out to me and changed for me. - Hi Gerda, I think I am done with all the edits for now. What's the next step? Joachim.stroh (talk) 19:32, 29 April 2026 (UTC)
Suggestion for new opera singer page - Longlong
[edit]Hi Gerda, I recently designed a website for a good friend mine, Longlong, who is an operatic/lyric tenor and just had his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. You can find his new website here - https://longlongtenor.com/ - and a comparable Wikipedia entry for Kang Wang here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kang_Wang_(opera_singer). What is the best way to set up a page for Longlong on Wikipedia? I have drafted the content following the guidelines and can share that with you. Joachim.stroh (talk) 20:03, 24 April 2026 (UTC)
- You can create Draft:Long Long and share it with us, but you will need neutral language (not "plangent high C") and independent sources, - not his website. Met is promising ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:11, 24 April 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, of course. Thank you, Gerda. Joachim.stroh (talk) 20:43, 24 April 2026 (UTC)
- You can copy the comparable page into the draft and adjust it to the other content, - best to save only when modified. Afterwards, I - and also others - can work on the draft, and ultimately move it to Main space with the complete history. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:50, 24 April 2026 (UTC)
- I have posted the draft I created earlier for your review. If the Critical reception section is too much, we can certainly remove that part. I can ask him about a free-licensed photo as well. Joachim.stroh (talk) 21:19, 24 April 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you, and the conversation can proceed on its talk. I'd not drop the whole reception section, but have some reviews again within the history, and drop all that don't point out something characteristic. Compare Jessye Norman. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:47, 24 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hi Gerda, the opera singer page for Longlong is ready from my end, should I submit it? Joachim.stroh (talk) 14:31, 5 May 2026 (UTC)
- Do you have a source for his birth date? Grimes2 14:40, 5 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hi Grimes2, this press release from Bertelsmann in 2019 states his age. Joachim.stroh (talk) 19:20, 9 May 2026 (UTC)
- It states 1991 not 27 September 1991. Grimes2 19:27, 9 May 2026 (UTC)
- Correct and I think the closest we can get to a public record on his birthday. Should I remove the full date in this case and only keep the birth year? Joachim.stroh (talk) 14:17, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
- yes --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:21, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
- ok, done! Joachim.stroh (talk) 03:25, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
- The article relies in large parts on Long Longs website. This is a first party source and should be avoided. I hope there will be no problem during publishing. Grimes2 05:40, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for all the edits on the references, much better now. Joachim.stroh (talk) 23:10, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
- Can't find his early life in his official website. Grimes2 05:54, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hi Grimes, I talked to Longlong and we added the Early Life segment to his website (see here https://longlongtenor.com/about) Joachim.stroh (talk) 23:09, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
- This is now a copyright violation! Grimes2 23:55, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
- How so? This is his writing, reformatted for Wikipedia and then used on his website (with his permission). Joachim.stroh (talk) 18:10, 19 May 2026 (UTC)

I think, you con submit the draft for review. Good luck. Grimes2 18:21, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
- I think you might move this thread to the draft's talk. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:55, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
