This draft page should be deleted. There is a live page already. :( Zagrier (talk) 14:40, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

I agree. Deleting this draft may seem unfair because it was created and draftified before Flydubai Flight 1073 was even created, but c'est la vie. I think we should merge anything from this draft that may be missing from the main-space article and then delete the draft. Do we need an AfD for that? I hope not. @Mjroots What do you think? You removed the speedy deletion tag. That was perfectly justified, but would you agree with a merge? — Chrisahn (talk) 17:52, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Chrisahn: No need for an AfD. Merge anything useful into the article then delete the draft. Mjroots (talk) 18:01, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Just a ridiculous situation all round, I created this article over an hour before the live one and it was drafted immediately. No Swan So Fine (talk) 19:08, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Being fair you created it with a single source, didn't adequately prove notability. You didn't even format the reference correctly.
That said I think the writing should have been on the wall that this event was notable, so I think was probably a bad draftify. Should have waited longer. grapesurgeon (talk) 19:24, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

yep just remove the draft Nsokolsky (talk) 19:20, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Can any consensus be established over breaking news stories and drafts? There does seem to be a WP:Not News active coterie, which I have never understood as an established breaking news[er]. No Swan So Fine (talk) 19:56, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
what if like you know find like texts in the draft page that didn't exist in the main page and after adding everything into the main page we can delete the draft I think maybe this is good idea isn't it@Zagrier Arvin88 (talk) 20:01, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yes. Seems good to me. Zagrier (talk) 20:07, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
The draft wouldn’t make much of a difference at all even if we merge it. The information would just overlap, causing us to delete the information anyway. FiReItUpBr0 (talk) 20:27, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
But if you find information that isn't already there, that's fine. FiReItUpBr0 (talk) 21:15, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Delete - This draft has all of five sources. I can't imagine what reliable information it would have that the main article doesn't already. -- Veggies (talk) 22:53, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
so if main article have anything deleting is best option @Veggies Arvin88 (talk) 23:14, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Merge and then redirect to main article, not delete, for any attribution requirements. Redirects from Draft: to main namespace are common. — Peterwhy (talk) 02:01, 1 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Merge any information that is not already in the mainspace article, and redirect the draft title. No rationale has been given to delete the draft page rather than simply redirecting the page. --bonadea contributions talk 09:32, 1 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Merge: If a page with the same name exists, best redirect that dupe page to the original. Guythatlikeshorses2talk 05:48, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Merge: The attributions of this page should be preserved. No Swan So Fine (talk) 14:36, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
