Submitting to articles for creation

My apologies for the confusion, I thought I was following the protocol correctly. Where can I find the text I wrote for the draft? It took some time to put all the sources in that formatting and I want to submit it for consideration as soon as possible and I'm having difficulty finding the text anywhere in the draft. Thanks! I am wondering if there is a possibility of putting this page higher in the articles for creation process, the election is in less than two months and know it would help voters in Michigan if they have access to information on all the candidates on what is one of the more trusted platforms for voter research. There is no higher or lower in the process. The review notice is quite explicit, "drafts are reviewed in no specific order".

The election is nearly FIVE months away, not two. If he wins that he'll definitely pass the NPOL notability threshold. Being a candidate does not show the required level of notability. Cabayi (talk) 19:51, 9 June 2026 (UTC)

The general election is in November. The primary is in August. I'm a bit confused on how the NPOL threshold works given that Chad Bianco has a wikipedia page and he is in a similar position. He is the sheriff of one of the larger counties in California, just as Swanson is the sheriff of one of the larger counties in Michigan. Bianco ran for Governor in the primary election as a republican, Swanson ran for Governor in the primary election as a democrat. The only difference between the two as far as their notability is that one spoke at the DNC in 2024 and made national headlines in 2020. As far as I know, Bianco has not done the same yet he has a page. Can you explain to me why he might not pass the NPOL notability threshold but Bianco already has? Citing the example of Chad Bianco is a line of argument which is deprecated. The essay has a shortcut linking to it, WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS, which probably tells you all you need to know without reading the page. It's possible that Bianco meets the WP:GNG threshold. I don't know.

The threshold of WP:NPOL will be met when (if) Swanson is elected Governor in November. There is some disputed grey area if he is the chosen candidate of one of the two major parties after the primary. Cabayi (talk) 13:38, 17 June 2026 (UTC)

So what is it that Swanson has done to not merit meeting the threshold. He has made national headlines several times, has won in the 5th largest county in a state that is often watched for where things will go politically. I don't think that's a complete reading of the guidance. The essay explicitly states that local government officials are notable if they have received significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources, and that election to higher office is only an alternate method of establishing notability—not the exclusive one.

Sheriff Swanson has been the subject of extensive independent national and regional coverage over several years, well beyond routine reporting. That coverage includes his response to the Flint water crisis, national attention following the 2020 George Floyd protests, appearances on national television, criminal justice initiatives such as G.H.O.S.T. and I.G.N.I.T.E., and his role as sheriff of Michigan's fifth-largest county. Those are substantial, independent sources from which a comprehensive article can be written.

Wikipedia also notes that officials leading major municipal departments serving populations over 100,000 are generally considered notable, precisely because sufficient independent sourcing almost always exists. Genesee County's population far exceeds that threshold, and the office of sheriff is unquestionably the head of a major public safety department.

If your position is that none of these sources constitute significant independent coverage, could you identify which part of the general notability guideline you believe is not satisfied?
