Distinction from AI-assisted software development

AI-assisted software development covers the broad practice of using AI across the development workflow, sourced largely to industry and general press. Whereas my draft covers a narrower subject: an emerging academic discipline framing agent-based development as an engineering field, with its own foundational model ("SE for Humans and SE for Agents"), an ACM/IEEE workshop at ICSE 2026, and a systematic review in IEEE Access. The sourcing is almost entirely peer-reviewed and doesn't overlap with the parent article.
This also mirrors the existing structure, where vibe coding has a standalone article while being summarized within the parent (a specific concept coexisting with the broader topic). I've added a wikilink to situate this draft the same way.
That said, I'll defer to your judgment: does the distinct scholarly scope warrant a standalone article, or would it be better merged as a potential new section within AI-assisted software development? I'm happy either way.

- PS another way to think of this:
- 1. AI-assisted software development treats AI as a tool within an unchanged process.

- If this distinction can be shown in reliable sources, it can certainly justify a stand-alone article. It can't be an ad-hoc distinction for article purposes, though: ideal would be to find someone making the distinction you just made, in a reliable source. Then you could lead off with a section that clearly distinguishes this concept from AI-assisted development.
