Zu-Zweit.de is a German-language website based in Germany that compares and reviews dating sites and apps.[1]
It was founded by Chris Pleines who is the co-author of Online-Dating für Dummies.[2] [3]
In 2015, Zu-Zweit.de and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich created a study profiling the types of people who join different types of dating sites.[4]
In 2017, Zu-Zweit.de analyzed 22 million dating profile photos from 16 countries to study how singles present themselves online.[5] [6] The Austrian newspaper Der Standard also covered their findings in an article about how users present themselves on Tinder.[7]
In 2021, German public broadcaster WDR did a documentary on online dating during the COVID-19 pandemic and cited findings from the same photo study.[8]
Zu-Zweit.de's figures on the size of the German online dating market were also used by Hamburg Media School's FINK.Hamburg in a 2019 article on ghostwriting for dating profiles.[9]
