Yvonne Chuang is a Hong Kong movie and entertainment executive, specialises in content, deal architecture and business strategies. Over a career spanning more than 35 years, she has held senior leadership roles at major Asian studios and media conglomerates—including STAR TV, Celestial Pictures, Universe International, Shaw Brothers, and Tomson Group—overseeing the acquisition, archiving, and global distribution of major Chinese-language film libraries.
Early Career & Film licensing and Archiving
Chuang began her career in the Hong Kong film industry, serving in sales and distribution roles for studios including Golden Harvest and Shaw Brothers (Hong Kong) Ltd. She later served as Head of Film Distribution & Development at Universe International Holdings Ltd and was responsible launching its international movie distribution and film projects development operations.
As Vice President of Acquisition and Distribution at Celestial Pictures Limited, Chuang was responsible for content acquisitions as well as the sales, archiving, and global distribution of the restored Shaw Brothers film library. During her career, she managed licensing and distribution for major regional film catalogs containing over 1,000 titles, including iconic films such as A Better Tomorrow, Once Upon a Time in China, Police Story, and Enter the Dragon.
Executive Roles
STAR TV / 20th Century Fox
In March 2008, Chuang joined News Corp’s STAR TV as Vice President of Program Syndication and Distribution.[1] In this role, she oversaw the worldwide syndication and home video distribution of STAR’s content library, including the Fortune Star library (comprising over 700 contemporary Chinese films) and thousands of hours of Indian and regional programming. During her tenure, she played a central role in launching Hot Summer Days (2010), the first Chinese-language film project produced under the label.
Tomson Group
In 2011, property developer Tomson Group formed Tomson International Entertainment Distribution Ltd. and appointed Chuang as Senior Vice President and General Manager[2] to head its new entertainment arm. Under her management, the division focused on acquiring and distributing international independent films and Mainland-Hong Kong co-productions across Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Producing Career
From 2015 - 2019, Chuang has operated as an independent film producer based in Hong Kong. She has collaborated with major Mainland Chinese production partners, including Huayi Brothers and Bona Film Group, on cross-border co-productions.

A seasoned film industry veteran with over three decades of commercial, production and advisory experience, Chuang is operating at the intersection as a strategic advisor, driving high value transactions between institutional film funds and commercial movie production entities.
