Yushania maling, commonly known as Maling bamboo, is a species of bamboo in the family Poaceae, first described as Arundinaria maling by Gamble in 1912 and transferred to Yushania by R.B. Majumdar and Karthikeyan in 1989.[1] It is native to the eastern Himalaya, ranging from eastern Nepal through Sikkim and northern West Bengal to Assam, growing at elevations of approximately 1,800–3,600 m.[2] The species is ecologically dominant in parts of the Khangchendzonga landscape, where its proliferation can suppress understorey diversity in temperate mountain forests.[1]
