Yuhmmy is a consumer brand and mobile social-networking application centered on sharing experiences about food and drink. It is developed by LavLabs, LLC, an operating laboratory of Labs Companies.[1] Apple lists the application in its Lifestyle category and records its initial release on November 23, 2023.[2] The company describes the product as a "social-taste" platform, while Pulse 2.0 characterized Yuhmmy App 2.0 as the flagship consumer product of Labs Companies.[3][4]

History

[edit]

Version 1.0 was released for iPhone and iPad on November 23, 2023, followed by version 1.0.1 on June 7, 2024.[2] The first version allowed users to capture food-related moments, interact around meals and save taste collections. Apple continues to identify the developer and seller of the 1.x listing by its former name, LavLabs Inc.; current company materials identify the operating entity as LavLabs, LLC.[2][1]

In September 2025, Pulse 2.0 and VentureCapital.com reported the announcement of Yuhmmy App 2.0 and a planned initial rollout to students at the University of Southern California and the University of California, Los Angeles. Pulse 2.0 said the rollout would limit access to specified meal periods before expanding to a broader audience.[3][5] Labs' current product and investor pages describe Yuhmmy App 2.0 as opening in winter 2026.[4][1]

Features

[edit]

The App Store description says the original application was designed for recording taste moments, sharing on-screen eating experiences and organizing saved items into collections.[2] Pulse 2.0 reported that the announced second version centered on audiovisual conversations about food and drink. Its described features included live "Tasterooms" and brief video posts called "Taste Reactions".[3]

Other announced components included the Tastechat messaging feature, Taste Sports, limited-release Taste Drops, Cravecash peer-to-peer payments and a "Taste Now, Pay Later" function. These features were described as part of a wider commercial and social ecosystem rather than as capabilities documented in the currently listed App Store release.[3][4]

Brand and ecosystem

[edit]

The official Yuhmmy website presents the application as the center of a broader consumer brand spanning commerce, media, payments, events and physical products. Named components include Yuhmmy Music, Yuhmmy LIVE, Yuhmmy Market, Cravecash, Yuhmmy Wallet, Yuhmmy Rewards, Taste Charts and YuhmmyHouse.[4] The company describes these as a mix of planned products, services and brand concepts; they are not all documented as released features of the App Store version.

The company also identifies Yuhmmyevents as an in-person events brand and TastefulTalks as a planned podcast.[4] Current company disclosures separately list Yuhmmy, LLC, Yuhmmy Music, LLC and Yuhmmyevents, LLC among affiliated legal entities.[1]

Technology and research

[edit]

Pulse 2.0 reported that Yuhmmy originated within LavLabs and drew on technology from other Labs divisions, including artificial-intelligence systems developed by Labsintelligence and immersive-computing work from Labs Realities.[3] The company calls its product-specific artificial-intelligence work "YuhmmyAI" and says it is researching Social-Taste Appetite Models and Social-Taste Agents intended to interpret audiovisual and conversational signals related to appetite and taste.[4]

The company also uses the name "Yuhmmyverse" for a proposed immersive environment involving collaborative tastings, cooking sessions and food-related events. The official product page describes this work as emerging.[4]
