Yonca Baygın (born 9 November 1977) is a Turkish radio presenter, television host, producer, and voice-over artist. She has worked with several national radio stations and with TRT (Turkish Radio and Television Corporation), Turkey’s state-owned national public broadcaster.
Early life and education
[edit]Baygın was born in Istanbul, Turkey. She completed her primary, middle, and high school education at Özel Arı College between 1984 and 1995. She graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of English Language and Literature, where she studied between 1995 and 1999.
Career
[edit]Radio
[edit]Baygın began her radio career in 1996 at Radyo ODTÜ. Between 1997 and 2008, she worked at Radyo Mydonose as a program producer and presenter. She later joined Capital Radio, where she worked as both a program producer and news presenter.
Throughout her career, she has worked at several national radio stations in Turkey, including NTV Radyo, Show Radyo, Radyo Viva, Metro FM, Joy FM, and Joy Türk.
In 2021, she participated as an instructor in the Başakşehir Radyo Akademi program, teaching radio history and podcasting.[1]
Television
[edit]Baygın has worked as a television presenter and program producer on TRT, the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation, which operates as Turkey’s state-owned national public broadcaster.
She presented and produced programs including Kahve Bahane (TRT INT), TelevizYONCA (TRT 1), Stüdyo Ankara, and Eurovision-related broadcasts.
She also hosted the TRT Müzik program Müzik Kronolojisi, which aired weekly on Wednesdays at 20:00.[2]
In addition, she hosted En Sevilen 20 on TRT Müzik and worked as a voice artist for TRT Okul.
Between 2014 and 2020, she served as the corporate voice of Nat Geo People Turkey.
Voice-over work
[edit]Since the early 2000s, Baygın has worked as a voice-over artist for television commercials, radio advertisements, IVR systems, and corporate branding projects in Turkey.
She is a co-founder of My Prodüksiyon and Doruk Seslendirme.
Recognition
[edit]In 2014, Baygın was nominated for the Sihirli Mikrofon Awards.[3]
