Xpaid (styled XPAID) is a consulting and technology company that provides informational, advisory, and software services concerning European regulatory compliance and international payment infrastructure. Oleksii "Alex" Rud has been described as the founder of Xpaid;[1] company materials also list Mikhailo Studenets as a co-founder.[2] Rud has served as director of the company's Polish entity, XPAID Sp. z o.o., while Studenets has served as director of its Lithuanian entity, Xpaid UAB.[3][4]
History
[edit]Xpaid was founded by Oleksii Rud, an entrepreneur from Volyn who had previously developed the business-partner search platform Comfound and worked at the London-based venture firm Space Tech Analytics.[1] Rud has described the company's mission as providing Ukrainian and other clients with information and consulting regarding cross-border payments and international financial regulations.[5] The company's Lithuanian legal entity, Xpaid UAB (company number 306120408), was registered on 28 July 2022; a related entity, Xpaid sp. z o.o., was registered in Poland on 10 December 2024 (KRS number 0001143376).[6][7][4][8][9][10]
Rud has represented the company at industry events, including the China–CEEC Expo in Ningbo, China, in May 2023.[11]
Operations
[edit]According to company representatives, Xpaid provides consulting, informational, and software services concerning European regulatory compliance and international payment infrastructure.[5] The company's Polish entity, XPAID Sp. z o.o., was registered as a virtual asset service provider (VASP) in Poland (KRS 0001143376, RDWW-1764).[9][12] Under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), which required Polish VASPs to obtain separate crypto-asset service provider (CASP) authorisation or cease regulated crypto-asset services during a 2025–2026 transitional period, the company discontinued its crypto-related services — including OTC exchange, on/off-ramp conversion, and stablecoin exchange — on 30 June 2026, and has since described itself as operating exclusively as a consulting and informational-services firm.[12][13]
Company representatives have discussed topics including cross-border payments for businesses, source-of-funds documentation, and the practical challenges individuals and companies face when moving capital that originated in cryptocurrency into traditional banking channels.[5][14]
Coverage describing the topics Xpaid addresses has also included discussion of using cryptocurrency-derived capital in real estate transactions.[15]
