Draft:William M. Harrison

William M. Harrison (1818 – February 15, 1900)^[1] was an American lawyer who served as a justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court from 1868 to 1872,^[2] and from 1874 to 1882.

Born in Maryland in 1818, Harrison "came to Arkansas in 1840 and taught school for a year in Chicot County".^[2]

He returned to Maryland and taught while studying law.^[2]

"From 1852 to 1856, he represented Ashley, Drew, and Chicot Counties in the Arkansas Senate".^[2]

He was "elected to the Arkansas House of Representatives in 1860", and voted in favor of a secession convention.^[2]

He was elected to the second circuit in 1864, and nominated to the Supreme Court in 1868.^[2]

Harrison died at his home in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, at the age of 82.^[1]
