Wavestone is an international management and technology consulting firm headquartered in Paris and Munich. The company employs more than 6,000 people across 17 countries and operates in France, the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), the United Kingdom and the United States. It is listed on Euronext Paris and is a constituent of the CAC Mid & Small index.[1]
In its current form, Wavestone was created in 2023 through a merger of the French consulting firm Wavestone (founded in 1990 as Solucom) and the German firm Q_PERIOR.
History

[edit]Solucom was founded in France in 1990 by Pascal Imbert and Michel Dancoisne.[2] The company went public in 2000 and surpassed €100 million in revenue in 2009.[3]
In 2016, Solucom expanded its international presence through the acquisition of the European operations of Kurt Salmon, which comprised approximately 750 employees and revenue of around €120 million.[4] Following this acquisition, the company was rebranded as Wavestone.[5] Between 2019 and 2022, Wavestone grew both organically and through targeted acquisitions in the United States (W Group,[6] Everest Group Consulting[7]) and in the United Kingdom (PEN Partnership, Coeus Consulting).[8]
In July 2023, Wavestone announced its planned merger with Q_PERIOR. At the time of the announcement, Wavestone reported revenue of €532 million for the 2022/23 financial year and employed approximately 4,400 people.[9]
Origins in the DACH region (Q_PERIOR)
[edit]Q_PERIOR was established on 1 July 2011 through the merger of three independent consulting firms: ESPRiT Consulting AG (co-founded by Karsten Höppner, Munich), agens Consulting GmbH (Eschborn) and paricon AG (Stuttgart).[10]
Prior to the merger with Wavestone, Q_PERIOR was an owner-managed business and IT consulting firm focused on the DACH region, primarily serving clients in financial services (banking and insurance), industry, and public transport. At the time of the merger announcement, the company employed approximately 1,400 people and reported annual revenue of around €285 million (2022).[11]

[edit]The merger between Wavestone and Q_PERIOR was completed in December 2023, with the aim of building a leading European consulting firm.[12] In the 2024/25 financial year, the group reported consolidated revenue of €943.7 million.[13]
