Vobiz, also known as Vobiz.ai, is an Indian cloud-communications company based in Bengaluru. It provides programmable telephone services for businesses developing automated calling systems and AI voice applications.[1] Its services include application programming interfaces (APIs) for voice calls, SIP trunking, telephone-number provisioning, audio streaming and business messaging.[2] The company was founded in 2025 by Suman Gandham and Vikash Srivastava.[1][3]
History
[edit]Vobiz was established in Bengaluru in 2025 and launched its platform in November of that year.[1] Gandham had previously founded the financial-technology company Finin, which was acquired by Open Financial Technologies. Srivastava had worked for the communications companies Plivo and Bandwidth.[1]
In May 2026, Vobiz raised US$1 million in seed funding in a round led by the Piper Serica VC Fund.[3][4] The company said it planned to use the funding for engineering and commercial expansion.[3]

[edit]Vobiz provides APIs for software to place and receive calls through the public switched telephone network and through SIP endpoints. Its call-control functions include audio playback, recording, text-to-speech, keypad-input collection, conferencing and call transfer.[5] The service is intended for applications such as call-centre software, automated outbound calling and AI voice agents.[1]
The platform can send live call audio to external software over bidirectional WebSocket connections. This allows developers to connect telephone calls to transcription, speech-synthesis and conversational-AI systems.[6]
SIP trunking and telephone numbers
[edit]Vobiz offers inbound and outbound SIP trunks for connecting private telephone systems and software applications to telephone networks. The service supports credential-based and IP-address-based authentication and configurable call-capacity limits.[7]
Customers can provision telephone numbers and assign them to voice applications or SIP endpoints.[8] The company charges separately for telephone numbers, call usage and additional software functions.[1]
Messaging
[edit]The platform includes tools for sending and receiving messages through the WhatsApp Business Platform. It supports message templates, contact lists and broadcast campaigns.[9] Inc42 reported in June 2026 that Vobiz was also planning support for SMS and RCS.[1]
Developer tools and integrations
[edit]Vobiz exposes its services through a REST API and an XML-based call-control language called VobizXML. It publishes software development kits for Python, Node.js, Ruby, Go, C#, Java and PHP.[10][2]
The platform integrates with third-party AI, speech and communications software. Inc42 reported integrations with providers including OpenAI, Gemini, ElevenLabs, Amazon Polly and LiveKit.[1] The company's documentation also describes connections to voice-agent platforms through SIP trunks or real-time audio streams.[2]
Business model and operations
[edit]Vobiz earns revenue from telephone-number rentals, usage-based call charges and additional services such as transcription, audio streaming and answering-machine detection.[1] Inc42 reported that the company served AI startups and enterprise customers in sectors including financial services, insurance, logistics and real estate. The publication identified Bolna, Sarvam AI and Razorpay among its customers, based on information supplied by the founders.[1]
The company has stated that it plans to expand outside India, including into the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region.[1]
