VirtualMetric is a Netherlands-based computer security company that develops a security data pipeline, also known as a telemetry pipeline, for security operations.[1][2][3] Its main product, DataStream, collects, filters, transforms, enriches, and routes security log data from a range of systems to destinations including SIEM (security information and event management) platforms and data lakes.[2][3]
The company was founded in 2016[4] by Yusuf Öztürk.[2] In 2025 it raised €2.25 million in funding led by TIN Capital and Auriga Cyber Ventures.[1][2]

[edit]VirtualMetric is based in Amsterdam, Netherlands,[2] and was founded in 2016[4] by Yusuf Öztürk.[2] The company develops software for managing security telemetry, the log and event data generated by systems across an organisation.[1][2][3]
In June 2025, VirtualMetric raised €2.25 million in a funding round led by TIN Capital, an Amsterdam-based venture capital firm, and Auriga Cyber Ventures, a Paris-based investor focused on early-stage cybersecurity companies.[1][2]
VirtualMetric was named among the winners at the ECSO Cyber Investor Days 2024 (Dutch edition).[5]
Product
[edit]VirtualMetric's main product, DataStream, is a security data pipeline that collects, filters, transforms, enriches, and routes log data before it reaches its destination.[1][2][3] It is positioned for enterprises and managed security service providers (MSSPs) that require centralised, cloud-managed control while keeping data processing within the customer's own environment.[3]
The platform separates a control plane, delivered as a hosted console for centralised management, from a data-processing engine that runs in the customer's own infrastructure, whether on premises or in a private cloud; a self-managed mode supports air-gapped environments in which no data is sent to the vendor.[3] Software Analyst Cyber Research (SACR) describes the pipeline engine as using a write-ahead log and vectorized processing to support high-throughput ingestion.[3]
DataStream collects data through a proprietary agent supporting Windows, Linux, Solaris, and AIX, as well as through standard protocols such as Syslog and NetFlow, streaming platforms such as Kafka, and OpenTelemetry collectors.[3] It routes data to multiple destination types, including SIEM platforms, data lakes, and storage and analytics platforms.[3]
The product's data-reduction features are intended to lower the volume of data forwarded to downstream systems while retaining detection quality.[3]
DataStream includes processors that connect to third-party AI services, including OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, and Anthropic Claude, to classify logs, extract entities, and summarise unstructured log data within the pipeline.[3]
Organisations reported to use DataStream include Turkcell, Commvault, and Caret.[2]
Reception and analysis
[edit]In a November 2025 report on security data pipeline platforms, Software Analyst Cyber Research (SACR) evaluated VirtualMetric among fourteen vendors in the category and classed it as an "emerging leader", a tier below the report's "pipeline leaders" and its overall category leader, Cribl.[3]
SACR identified the depth of VirtualMetric's integration with Microsoft services, covering Microsoft Sentinel, Azure Data Explorer, Blob Storage, and ASIM schema alignment, as the platform's main strength, while describing the product overall as a vendor-agnostic pipeline able to route to multiple SIEMs and data lakes.[3] It also noted its in-customer-environment processing and support for MSSPs managing multiple tenants.[3]
The report additionally noted areas for improvement, including the absence of coverage-gap analysis for identifying missing telemetry, and recorded that edge detection capabilities based on Sigma and YARA were planned for early 2026.[3]
SACR also named VirtualMetric among vendors offering threat-detection capabilities within the data stream, alongside Abstract Security and Tenzir.[3]
VirtualMetric has separately been listed among commercial security data pipeline and telemetry tools in industry analysis by the research and advisory firm Gartner.[6][7]
