History
[edit]Veloretti was founded in 2012 by Ferry Zonder [3]. The company began as a "digital first" brand, operating primarily through a direct-to-consumer (DTC) business model [4]. In the early years, the company focused on traditional city bikes and children's bicycles [5].
In 2021, Veloretti expanded into the electric vehicle market with the introduction of its first e-bike models [6]. Following this growth, it was announced in September 2022 that the company would be acquired by Pon.Bike, a subsidiary of Pon Holdings [7]. The acquisition was part of Pon's broader strategy to expand its e-bike portfolio alongside brands like Gazelle, Urban Arrow and Cervélo [8].
In 2023, the company announced plans to expand its physical retail footprint by opening service points and hubs throughout the Netherlands to support its online sales [9].
