Valcke Group is a Belgian family-owned company headquartered in Wevelgem, Belgium, that distributes bowling and fitness equipment. The company was founded in 1983 and traces its origins to a bowling centre opened by the Valcke family in 1966. Valcke Group distributes bowling equipment manufactured by Brunswick Bowling and fitness equipment manufactured by Life Fitness and Hammer Strength in several European countries.[1]
History
[edit]The origins of the family business lie in the linen industry in the Wevelgem area. After the decline of the industry during the 1960s, Lucien Valcke opened Bowling Kentucky in 1966.[1]
In 1983, Luc Valcke and An Maes founded a company specialising in the distribution of bowling equipment alongside the operation of bowling centres. In 1992, Valcke became the exclusive distributor of Brunswick Bowling products in Belgium and France.[1]
In January 2016, Henri Valcke and Laurent Valcke assumed the operational management of the family business. Henri Valcke became responsible for the distribution activities, while Laurent Valcke continued the operation of part of the family's bowling centres.[2]
In 2020, Valcke Group acquired the Polish company Bowling Polska. During the following years, the company expanded its distribution activities into several European countries, including Germany and Italy.[3]
Activities
[edit]Valcke Group supplies bowling equipment, installs and modernises bowling centres, and distributes commercial fitness equipment. The company is headquartered in Wevelgem and has subsidiaries in France and Germany.[4]
