Transflo is an American transportation software company headquartered in Tampa, Florida. The company develops software for the trucking and freight transportation industry, including document digitization, workflow automation, mobile applications, and fleet telematics.[1]
It serves trucking carriers, drivers, freight brokers, and factoring companies. It was originally founded in 1991.[1]
History
[edit]Transflo originated as a provider of document imaging services for the trucking industry before expanding into transportation software and workflow automation. Over time, the company broadened its offerings beyond document capture to include mobile applications, telematics, and digital workflow tools for carriers and other participants in the freight industry.[1]
In October 2020, Transflo acquired the Canadian software company Microdea, whose Synergize platform was used for transportation document management.[2][3]
In December 2021, the private equity firm Bregal Sagemount made a minority equity investment in Transflo, joining existing investors True Wind Capital and Carousel Capital. The investment was directed toward accelerating the company's product development and acquisition strategy.[4]
In April 2022, Renee Krug was appointed chief executive officer and Bill Vitti was named president and chief revenue officer.[5]
Following the investment and leadership transition, Transflo restructured its management team, appointing executives from the software, logistics, and financial services industries to roles including chief financial officer, chief product officer, and senior vice president of growth.[6]
In 2023, Transflo merged with Assured Telematics Inc., a provider of fleet management solutions.[7]
In 2025, Transflo appointed Jay Tomasello as chief technology officer to oversee artificial intelligence and digital strategy.[8]
Operations
[edit]Industry publications have described Transflo's business as evolving from document imaging and scanning services into a broader transportation software platform. Its software is used for document digitization, workflow automation, artificial intelligence-assisted document processing, mobile communications, and fleet telematics for commercial trucking operations.[1][9]
In a 2022 interview published by FreightWaves, company executives reported that Transflo's platform was used by 81 percent of the top 250 North American carriers and eight of the top ten freight brokers in the United States.[6]
Recognition
