TeamElysium (Korean: 팀엘리시움; legally Team Elysium Inc., 주식회사 팀엘리시움) is a South Korean health technology company headquartered in Seoul. It was founded in 2017 and develops AI-based devices for analyzing body posture and body shape, sold under the brand name Bodydot (바디닷).[1] Bodydot won a CES 2025 Innovation Award in the Fitness category[2][3][4] and was designated an "innovation product" (혁신제품) by South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT in January 2026.[5][6]

History

TeamElysium was established in Seoul in 2017 and, the following year, was selected for South Korea's TIPS (Tech Incubator Program for Startup) initiative.[1] Its early products were medical devices for assessing posture and balance: POM Checker (2018), iBalance (2019–2020) and Balance Checker (2021).[1] The company completed the TIPS program in 2022 and was selected for further support from the Seoul Business Agency (SBA).[1]

TeamElysium launched Bodydot in 2024, an AI-based body-shape and posture analysis device aimed at fitness and Pilates centers.[1] The product won a CES 2025 Innovation Award in the Fitness category, announced in late 2024 ahead of the show's January 2025 opening in Las Vegas.[2][3][4]

By the end of 2025, Korean and English-language trade media reported that Bodydot had been installed at more than 200 fitness and Pilates centers, including franchise chains such as Spoany, Health Boy Gym and Modern Pilates, and that it was also used in employee health programs at companies including E-Mart and Kyobo Life Insurance.[7][8][9] TeamElysium returned to CES 2026 with an updated version of Bodydot that added an overall body score with separate front, side and rear assessments, plus AI-generated exercise routines.[9] In January 2026, Bodydot was designated an "innovation product" (혁신제품) by the Ministry of Science and ICT, a status intended to support procurement and demonstration of high-potential technology in the public sector.[5][6] The company exhibited Bodydot and iBalance at SPOEX 2026 and KIMES 2026, both held in Seoul in March 2026.[10][11]

In April 2026, TeamElysium — led by co-chief executives Kim Weonjin and Park Unesik — exhibited Bodydot at FIBO 2026 in Cologne, Germany, one of the world's largest fitness trade shows. The company said Bodydot had by then been exported to more than six countries, including the United States, Japan and Taiwan, and that it planned to expand further into the European market.[12]

Bodydot uses 3D sensors and computer-vision algorithms to scan a user's body shape and posture, producing a report across 40 measurement items such as shoulder alignment, thoracic kyphosis, pelvic tilt and forward head posture. The company says its AI model, trained on more than 165,000 musculoskeletal data points, achieves 97.0% accuracy.[1] The device measures approximately 350 × 350 × 1,370 mm, weighs about 12 kg, and requires roughly 1.5 m of clearance between the unit and the person being scanned.[1]

CES described Bodydot as combining "a 3D-scanning measurement device" with AI to analyze "body shape and movement patterns," producing personalized exercise routines and a 3D digital avatar that users can refer to when tracking changes over time.[2]

Earlier medical devices

Before launching Bodydot, TeamElysium developed a series of medical devices for posture and balance assessment, including POM Checker (2018), iBalance (2019–2020) and Balance Checker (2021). iBalance has continued to be marketed alongside Bodydot at trade shows such as KIMES 2026.[1][11]

Research

A 2024 peer-reviewed paper in the journal Diagnostics describes measurement methods used in TeamElysium's body-analysis technology, covering the shoulder horizontal angle, thoracic kyphosis angle, pelvic anterior tilt angle and forward head posture angle.[13]
